Course Overview

Each year, multi-lateral and NGO donor organizations administer hundreds of billions of dollars in assistance to emerging/transitional economy countries. To ensure benefit to society and the economy and value for money, development projects must be effectively monitored and evaluated. In this course, participants will be exposed to the key elements necessary to effectively monitor and evaluate development projects. The course will strengthen the participants’ capacity to monitor and evaluate implementation of development projects and assess the project results and outcomes. Through presentations, case studies and simulated exercises participants will gain new knowledge and skills that will enable them to develop an Action Plan to successfully implement and institutionalize effective M&E procedures and systems to maximize the impact and success of development programs.
